NATIONAL CADET CORPS (NCC)

National Cadet Corps (NCC)

The National Cadet Corps (NCC) is a youth development movement in India. It is a tri-services organization, which includes the Army, Navy, and Air Force wings. The NCC was formed under the NCC Act of 1948 and works under the Ministry of Defence.

Its main aim is to develop discipline, leadership, patriotism, and character among students. NCC provides basic military training to students and encourages them to take part in community service, adventure activities, and national service.

Cadets who join NCC gain valuable experience through camps, parades, drills, cultural programs, and training programs. NCC also motivates youth to join the Indian Armed Forces and serve the nation.

Objectives of NCC

To develop character, discipline, leadership, secular outlook, and the spirit of adventure among youth.

To create a pool of organized, trained, and motivated youth with leadership qualities in all walks of life.

To provide a suitable environment to motivate the youth to take up a career in the Armed Forces.

To instill the values of patriotism, selfless service, and commitment to the nation.

To develop qualities like unity, comradeship, and a sense of responsibility through community service and group activities.

MOTTO

The motto of NCC is “Unity and Discipline”. ‘Unity’ implies our basic oneness, the brotherhood of all the Indian people regardless of their caste, colour or creed.
